My research interests range from rock and ice fracture mechanics to fault-related folding and glacier mechanics. My graduate students and I are involved in research projects that typically include elements of field geology, numerical, physical and analytical modeling.
Some of my current work includes:
- physical modeling of basement-cored uplifts
- fluid-rock systems in salt-related structures of northeastern Mexico
- origin and distribution of reservoir compartmentalizing faults in basement-cored uplifts
- links between formation mechanism, composition and distribution of clastic dikes in Badlands National Park
