My research interests range from rock and ice fracture mechanics to fault-related folding and glacier mechanics. My graduate students and I are involved in research projects that typically include elements of field geology, numerical, physical and analytical modeling.

Some of my current work includes:

• physical modeling of basement-cored uplifts

• fluid-rock systems in salt-related structures of northeastern Mexico
  • contact me about a 24 month RESEARCH ASSISTANTSHIP for this project (starting as early as Fall of 2006)

• origin and distribution of reservoir compartmentalizing faults in basement-cored uplifts

• links between formation mechanism, composition and distribution of clastic dikes in Badlands National Park
