Learning Styles Assignment #3
Before you can adjust your teaching styles to the learning styles of
your students, you need to be made aware of your own learning styles
and how this might result in skewing your teaching method selections if
you are not careful.
1. Do three
of the following learning style assessments for yourself. Print out your results and bring
them to class on Monday, Feb 25,
2008.
2. Be prepared to present
how your learning style matches or differs from the average student's
learning style.
3. This means that you will need to find out WHAT the average student's style is.
This will require that you do RESEARCH.
You must have a minimum of three valid
sources. Wikipedia is NOT a
valid source. (You can use ERIC online as a way to find valid sources.
You may use popular press articles from Time magazine the Chicago
Tribune etc.)
4. In order to use this activity to fulfill the IPTS knowledge
standards on learning styles in your portfolio, you must include a
written
analysis of how your teaching
style might affect your selection of
teaching methods if you are not consciously choosing and varying your
methods to
reach as many students as possible.
