Assignment #1 KWHL Reflection on Middle School Philosophy

Write a reflection paper that addresses at least 3 of the questions you generated as part of the KWHL activity in class.  The paper should be 3 pages long.  The standards addressed in this assignment may include the following. Please state explicitly which standards you are addressing. This is due Feb. 25, 2008.

IPTS Standard 2 - The competent teacher understands how individuals grow, develop, and learn and provides learning opportunities that support the intellectual, social, and personal development of all students.

2B. understands that students' physical, social, emotional, ethical, and cognitive development influences learning.

2C. understands human development, learning theory, neural science, and the ranges of individual variation within each domain.

2D. understands that differences in approaches to learning and performance interact with development.

2E. understands how to include student development factors when making instructional decisions.

Evidence of your understanding of these five indicators should be present in your paper.  Your score on the assignment will be based on how well you answer the questions you address and how good a job you do demonstrating your understanding of the five indicators.
