Catalog Description: A transitioning experience in which the certification candidate achieves closure on the initial phase of professional preparation and, upon that foundation, charts a path for continuing professional growth as a practicing teacher. Candidate will reflect on the preparatory experience and complete documentation demonstrating ability to perform as a qualified earth science teacher. Such documentation will include, but not be limited to, the electronic portfolio, a professional development plan, and a resume. CRQ: GEOL 487 or consent of department.
Standards Addressed:
ALL. This
is the final Capstone course where the Teaching Standards Portfolio is
completed and used to show that all standard have been met.

Meeting Days/Times/Location

This
is a four-week course
taken after the teacher candidate has successfully completed student
teaching. The course is workshop-based and focus on producing the final
portfolio, resume, completeing certifcation paperwork and presentation
of the action research project completed during student teaching. Meeting dates are Weds. April 7, 14,
21 and 28, 2010 from 5:00-8:00
