The Structure & Tectonics research group at Northern Illinois University integrates field and laboratory work with numerical, analytical and physical modeling to better understand large- and small-scale deformation processes.

Current research endeavors involve applications of fracture mechanics to ice and rock, characterization of fluid-rock systems, the evolution of fault-related folds, and the geomorphic evolution of mountain ranges.
